Areocrome

These are some of the photographs of Richard Mosse, a photographer who utilizes the now discontinued Kodak Areocrome film to create stunning surrealistic photographs of the jungles of Congo. Areocrome, which was developed by Kodak for use in Arial forest observation to give more contrast to plants versus the ground, also creates a fascinating effect by isolating and bringing to our attention the greens, rendered as a pinkish red, that emphasizes how closely these people’s lives are connected to the forest.
